The poll seemed more focused on standard monotheists than the rest of us, but it was an interesting walk nevertheless.

I suppose the results are not that surprising:

I am rather distraught thinking that I have 7% commonality of belief with JWs!
But apparently the 68% of Liberal Quaker puts me in good company.

By the way, has anyone here ever met a 'Liberal Quaker'?
I worked with a Quaker once and she seemed perfectly ordinary.
It wasn't as if when we were working on an analysis together that I had to think, "My goodness, these results might challenge her worldview about God."
Mind you, if had been an evangelical young-earther then it may very well have been a problem.
But that was a few years ago and maybe things have changed.

My ex's older sister was a quaker for a while. And a new ager. And a Buddist. And a mystic catholic...

All in the time I knew him, about 2 years.

So, I guess, no, unless 'liberal quaker' means 'flake'. ;)

It is entirely possible that Quaker means flake, because my Quaker Oats DOES have flakes in it.

I know that correlation doesn't mean causation, but stil, you have to wonder.

'Liberal Quakers' are 'unprogrammed meeting' Quakers, that is, they sit in silence and speak only as the Spirit moves them. They are good folks (and I'm not saying that because I am one myself!) :D

Yeah, I'll second the defense of the LQ's. I've met a few, and loved 'em all to bits.

That would be an interesting meeting.

I'd like to see that...

What types of things do they speak about?

Well as they speak 'as the Spirit moves' it can be about anything, really about anything.

No, they're not allowed to have the cinnamon.
