Some people may wonder about how things work around here, so this post is to be an aid to understanding the 'top-level' procedures of governance.
First, this board is primarily run as a benevolent dictatorship.
Second, the development of the board is aided by the "Magrathean Workers" group, which consists of people who are long-standing users in good standing who are interested in having input in the advancement of development of structure, modifications, and policy of the board.
Third, registered folks (who may or may not be "Magrathean Workers") always have the option of voicing complaints, offering suggestions, or raising issues over choices made by administrators/moderators in
The Oracle fora.
One of the important things to recognize in this structure is that the moderators answer, ultimately to the administrators.
Registered folks, as part of the registration process, have agreed to abide by the forum rules, and, as long as they do, they can expect the support of the moderators and administrators.
People who post spam can expect to be banned.
People who violate the rules of conduct for a specific forum can expect a warning.
3 warnings in less than 30 days will result in a temporary banning as the third warning is given.
Repeated offenses will repeat in longer or permanent bans.
Disruptive behavior on the board (especially for the purpose of being disruptive) is frowned upon and may result in warnings. As per the registration process, it is assumed that all registered folks are adults and capable as acting as the same.
TL/DR version: Act appropriately for the area you're posting. Bring problems to
The Oracle. The administrators' decisions prevail.
