This time of year just seems to beg for horror and spooky movies. Part of our annual holiday routine is to watch a few. With the four year old, some of the movies may be shelved for a year <sniff> but other movies are fine.

Annually, we watch:
Night of the living dead--- the original.
Cast a Deadly Spell (Fred Ward as a non magic using hard boiled private eye in a Lovecraft styled world)
Shaun of the dead (we can hope--- on order)
Spaced Invaders --- good for the kid, funny overall.
Night of the Comet
Assorted Vincent Price movies, depending on how depressed we wanna be (Last man on earth is BITTER)
Scream, the original.

Anyone else watch movies this time of year?

Non-serious scary movies are good too:
Nightmare before Christmas
Any of the Toxic Avenger movies
Cannibal, the musical

I said you were special...not unique.

And who can forget another classic Troma flick:

"Chopper Chicks in Zombietown"

Ralph Willum is the Doctor I aspire to be ... Well, at least in Urban Dead ...

I love Toxie!

I actually won a trivia contest on the radio once because I recognized a Toxic Avenger movie quote.

I've been bad and not bought out Amazon movies... <bummer> we won't be watching Shaun of the Dead until Thanksgiving...

My sister and I aren't much into horror movies. Halloween night, we stuck in a real monster movie--almost all monsters and hardly any humans, in fact.

It was Monsters, Inc.. I am henceforth claiming it as part of the Halloween movie canon, because--hey! Monsters!

Haven't seen it yet. Was downloaded (yes, he got caught) and never watched. Maybe.

I recommend Spaced Invaders. Aliens from Mars overhear the Orson Wells Hallowe'en broadcast and decide to join in the invasion, and crash land in Iowa...

Hilarity ensues. Good movie for people who don;'t like to be scared...
