MADRID Nike Air Max 2017 Sale Online , May 4 (Xinhua) -- An undersea gas storage facility built off the east coast of Spain will remain closed for the foreseeable future after a government report confirmed it had been responsible for causing over 500 earth tremors close to the eastern city of Castellon.

The English language version of the El Pais newspaper on Thursday cited Spainish Energy Minister Alvaro Nadal as saying that the Castor Storage plant will remain inoperative.

The site was designed to store gas in an undersea reservoir, but activity was suspended in September 2013 after continued tremors caused minor damage and prompted protests among local residents.

"For the moment, the best thing is to leave things as they are," said Nadal, admitting that "injecting gas was what in all probability" produced the tremors.

Professor Ruben Juanes, one of the report coordinators Nike Air Max 2018 Sale Online , explained that injecting gas into the storage area, which is a depleted gas field 1,700 meters below the sea level, had destabilized the Amposta faultline and its branches.

An 85-year-old ex-Gurkha who was attempting to reclaim his title as the world's oldest person to summit Mount Qomolangma (Everest in English) died of altitude sickness, the expedition organizer said Sunday.

Min Bahadur Sherchan died at Qomolangma base camp on Saturday and his body was airlifted to Kathmandu.

"Doctors said that he died of natural causes. There was water build-up in his lungs because of altitude sickness," Shiv Raj Thapa of Summit Nepal Trekking told AFP after an autopsy.

Sherchan was resting at the base camp and waiting for the weather window to summit in a single attempt Nike Air Max 90 Sale Online , skipping the usual multiple acclimatization rotations because of his age.

He was on a bid to reclaim a title that he lost to Japanese mountaineer Yuichiro Miura in 2013.

The former soldier became the oldest person to summit Qomolangma in 2008 when he was 76, but he lost the record five years later when Miura reached the 8,848-meter peak at the age of 80.

Speaking to AFP earlier this year, the grandfather said he just wanted to prove to himself that he could still make it to the top of the world.

"My aim is not to break anybody's record, this is not a personal competition between individuals. I wish to break my own record," Sherchan had said in February.

Sherchan's death is the second fatality of the spring climbing season on Qomolangma Nike Air Max Sale Online , which runs from late April to the end of May. Experienced Swiss climber Ueli Steck died last month when he fell from a steep ridge during an acclimatisation exercise.

MELAKA, Malaysia, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Looking over a vast stretch of tranquil sea, a stone tablet reads "the world's longest and busiest strait" in English, Malay, Chinese and Arabic.

This is Melaka Air Max 2017 Sale Online , also known as Malacca, once a trade hub so important that people named the Malacca Strait after it. Now it has only one inconspicuous harbor. On holidays, some tourists come to see the remnants of its past glory. Otherwise, the streets are quiet.

Melaka's fortune in ancient times stemmed from the prosperity of the Maritime Silk Road. Now that China is calling for the revival of the seafaring route, Melaka is eager to join in an effort to restore its lost glory.

Some six hundred years ago, Melaka reached its golden age with the rise of the Maritime Silk Road Air Max 2018 Sale Online , a route covering East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, West Asia and East Africa.

More than 84 languages were used in Melaka, attesting to its status as a truly international trade hub, Chief Minister of Melaka Idris Haron said.

One highlight of the ancient Maritime Silk Road was the expeditions led by Chinese admiral Zheng He. During his seven voyages Air Max 90 Sale Online , Zheng docked his fleet of hundreds of ships with tens of thousands of crew members in Melaka five times.

Exchanges with other countries and states greatly enriched life in Melaka, bringing not only wealth and goods but also culture and technology. With the help of Zheng's crew, locals improved their shipbuilding and construction technologies and even learned to establish their own currency system.

"Connection to the ancient Maritime Silk Road can be found in many historical sites in Melaka," said Onn Huann Jan, associate professor with Malaysia's Southern University College.

However, the Melaka Sultanate lost its luster after being conquered and colonized by the Portuguese. It is now Malaysia's smallest state with just one million people while its neighboring cities on the western coast of the Malay Peninsula Air Max Sale Online , Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, have become global metropolises.

Reminiscent of the benefits of a thriving Maritime Silk Road, Melaka has been pioneering Malaysia's active participation in China's Belt and Road Initiative.

Malaysia is building a huge deep-sea port in Melaka through cooperation with Chinese companies such as PowerChina, Yantian Port and Rizhao Port. Once completed, the port will be the largest of its kind in the Malacca Strait.

The Melaka Gateway, a complex consisting of the port and vast stretches of commercial Nike Air Max 2017 Mens Sale , industrial and tourism facilities, will sprawl over 1,366 acres and cost some 9.8 billion U.S. dollars.

"More than 100,000 ships pass through the Malacca Strait annually. The Melaka Gateway will be a new cost-saving option for those ships," said Gan Tian Loo, a Melaka commerce official in charge of business cooperation with China.

In addition to the port Nike Air Max 2018 Mens Sale , Melaka is working to improve air and land transport capacity. It is upgrading its airport and has launched direct flights to and from Guangzhou, a manufacturing hub in south China. The city will also be a stop of the planned Malaysia-Singapore high-speed railway.

Improved connectivity has already brought in a surge of Chinese investment Chinese Pre.
